Three types of intramuscular injections can be taught and practiced with this simulator: dorsogluteal‚ ventrogluteal and vastus lateralis injections. The skin and muscle textures‚ and bone shape and position are extremely realistic‚ providing palpable anatomical landmarks for proper identification of injection sites. To allow visualization of the underlying structure‚ the gluteus medius and gluteus maximus muscles‚ sciatic nerve and vascular structures are clearly shown in a cut-away seciton.
